Our Social Media & Musical Theater Obsessions Combine
Tony winner Karen Ziemba and Broadway vet John Bolton, who starred together in Curtains, will reunite for an industry reading of Social Life in February. The new musical features a score by Jeremiah Rosenthal, a book and lyrics by Ricky Dunlop and Alex Kantor, plus additional material by creator Chris Myers. Among those joining them is Ethan Slater. The tuner explores a social media-dominated world, where tweeting at the dinner table, vlogging and more are the norm.
Tony Winners & More Tapped for Broadway Backwards
Tony winners Len Cariou and Brian Stokes Mitchell, as well as On the Town’s Tony Yazbeck and Jackie Hoffman, You Can’t Take It With You’s Florence Henderson, Tituss Burgess, Ann Harada, Aaron Lazar, Florence Henderson and more will take part in Broadway Backwards, the annual benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the LGBT Community Center of New York. Fortunately, we’ll soon be able to relive the belting, mixing and everything else that happened in that show with the new cast recording, which will now be available on February 24. While you wait, here are the production’s headliners Emily Padgett and Erin Davie performing the show's signature number, “I Will Never Leave You.”
