More dates for your theater awards season calendar! The 60th Annual Drama Desk Awards will take place on May 31 at Town Hall. The nominations, which honor achievement in Broadway, off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway productions in the same categories, will be announced on April 23.
The Town Hall show will be written by Bill Rosenfield and directed by Transport Group Artistic Director Jack Cummings III.
The 2014-2015 Drama Desk nominating committee is composed of the chairperson Barbara Siegel (author and critic), along with Benjamin Coleman (literary associate, Samuel French), Adrian Dimanlig (Interludes), Steve Garrin (producer and sound designer), Mahayana Landowne (director and artist) and Steve Marsh (Stony Brook University).
The Drama Desk was founded in 1949 to explore key issues in the theater and bring together critics, writers, editors and publishers in an organization to support the ongoing development of theater in New York. The organization began presenting its awards in 1955.
