First Wives Scribes are Hollywood Stars
Motown legends Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier and Eddie Holland, who have penned the upcoming First Wives Club: The Musical, will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on February 13. The trio have reunited for the first time in more than 30 years to write the score for the new Broadway-bound tuner, which begins performances on February 17 and runs through March 29 at Chicago’s Oriental Theatre.
Lena Hall & More Set for Broadway Backwards
Tony winner Lena Hall, recent Phantom star Norm Lewis, Telly Leung, Charles Busch, It’s Only a Play’s Micah Stock and more have been added to the lineup of Broadway Backwards. As previously reported, this year’s benefit will take place on March 9 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre and will celebrate some of the most memorable numbers from previous years of the event.
Alexandra Socha Now an Amazon Series Regular
Broadway alum Alexandra Socha has been tapped as a series regular on Steven Soderbergh’s Red Oaks. Variety reports that the former Spring Awakening star will continue her role as Skye in the Amazon comedy, a coming-of-age tale set in 1980s New Jersey. Socha was last seen on the New York stage in the off-Broadway production of Fun Home.
