Julie Andrew Will Pen Another Memoir
Well, this is certainly practically perfect! Oscar winner and musical theater legend Julie Andrews will release her second memoir in 2017, the Associated Press reports. The yet-to-be titled book will pick up where her 2008 memoir Home left off and explore her time working on such films as Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music and her marriage to the late Blake Edwards. So no, she’s not starting at the very beginning this time around.

Rachel Tucker: Dominatrix of the UK Stage
Rachel Tucker, after making her Broadway debut last fall in The Last Ship, will return to the UK stage for the Menier Chocolate Factory’s Communicating Doors. The Alan Ayckbourn comedy follows Poopay Dayseer (Tucker), a dominatrix who unwittingly time travels back to 1994 after witnessing a murder confession. Performances will begin on May 7 and run through June 27. Lindsay Posner directs a cast that will also includes Olivier winner David Bamber, Shakespeare in Love’s Lucy Briggs-Owen, Matthew Cottle and Imogen Stubbs.

Stars in the Alley 2015 Sets May Date
Mark your calendars for the return of Stars in the Alley. The free event will take place in Shubert Alley on May 27 at 10:30 AM. No word yet on who will perform, but expect plenty of star-power from the Great White Way’s new and long-running hits. And to hold you over until May, revisit last year’s concert with Sierra Boggess, Andy Karl and more!

New Dramatists to Honor Brian Stokes Mitchell
Brian Stokes Mitchell will receive the New Dramatists’ 2015 Distinguished Achievement Award at their 66th Annual Spring Luncheon. Mitchell, who serves as Chairman of the Board of The Actors Fund, won a Tony for his performance in Kiss Me, Kate and was also nominated for Ragtime, King Hedley II and Man of La Mancha. The event is set for May 14 at the Marriott Marquis. Recent past honorees include Susan Stroman, Seth Gelblum and Bernadette Peters.

Frankie J. Grande Swipes Left for Smoking
Broadway actor (and producer) Frankie J. Grande has joined the “Left Swipe Dat” movement…in a way that only Frankie could. The former Broadway.com vlogger released a music video with his collaborator Brittani Taylor, urging those privy to swiping for love (or whatever) to swipe left—i.e. pass—on smokers. Take a look as Grande swipes left on all sorts of cigarette-wielding dudes while dressed like the shining sun that he is.
