Carey Mulligan is back on Broadway in Skylight, and not only is she acting up a storm, but she’s also cooking! The Oscar nominee stars opposite Bill Nighy and plays Kyra, who—amongst other things—whips up a batch of spaghetti bolognese (from scratch) during the course of the David Hare play. She explained to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that she doesn’t eat her own concoction herself, but the crew at the Golden Theatre does occasionally take home the leftovers. The self-proclaimed “musical theater geek” also discusses her entirely inappropriate trips to New York as a kid, including seeing Alan Cumming in Cabaret (at age 14) and going to Hooters while rocking Les Miserables swag (at age 11). Skylight opens officially on Broadway on April 2.
