Broadway alum Jake Gyllenhaal’s movie Southpaw, co-starring former Matilda lead Oona Laurence, will hit theaters on July 31 and the first trailer certainly packs a punch. A pumped-up Gyllenhaal plays a boxer in danger of losing his daughter (Laurence) in the family drama. Sophie Okonedo Will Return to New York Theater
Sophie Okonedo has been tapped to star in Arthur Miller’s The Crucible in New York in 2016. According to the Daily Mail, the production will be helmed by Ivo van Hove; no word yet on theater or specific dates. Okonedo won the Tony last year for her Broadway debut in the revival of A Raisin in the Sun.
