Finding Neverland Takes Top Honors at IRNE Awards
Last year’s pre-Broadway production of Finding Neverland at A.R.T. garnered eight awards at the Independent Reviewers of New England’s 19th Annual IRNE Awards on April 13, including Best New Play and Best New Musical. (We’re a bit confused about how it achieved both but the tuner's mega producer Harvey Weinstein is nothing if not brilliant!) In the straight musical categories Diane Paulus won for Best Director, Laura Michelle Kelly for Best Actress and Carolee Carmello for Best Supporting Actress. And although they didn’t end up moving with the show to the Great White Way, two-time Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner Jeremy Jordan won for Best Actor and Tony winner Michael McGrath picked up the gong for Best Supporting Actor. Congratulations to all!
