Megan Hilty on Bombshell
Megan Hilty recently stopped by CBS News to talk about the upcoming Bombshell concert, her new comedy pilot and more. The Broadway fave revealed that she's still very close to her Smash co-star Katharine McPhee, although noted they'd have limited interaction at the event on June 8. "We won't get to do anything together because we're playing the same part, so we're splitting up all the songs," Hilty explained. We're sure that whatever they have in store for those lucky enough to attend, there will be all the drama, the laughter and the tears just like pearls that the audience could possibly wish for!
Jake Gyllenhaal & Sienna Miller Join Cannes Jury
Recent Broadway alums Jake Gyllenhaal (Constellations) and Sienna Miller (Cabaret) have been tapped for the Cannes Film Festival jury, reports The Wrap. The stage and screen stars will be among the five men and four women tasked with judging the films in the Main Competition selection for the 68th festival. Gyllenhaal will soon return to the boards in Little Shop of Horrors, while Miller is looking to come back to the Great White Way in spring 2016.
Lucky Stiff, Starring B'way Faves, Sets Release Date
You’ll soon be seeing a host of Broadway faves in a movie theater—or on a TV screen—near you thanks to distributors Abramorama and The Orchard! According to Variety, the previously reported film adaptation of Lucky Stiff, starring Tony winners Jason Alexander and Nikki M. James, along with Cheyenne Jackson, Kate Shindle, Kevin Chamberlin, Jennifer Cody, Wesley Taylor, Jayne Houdyshell and more, will be released on July 24, both theatrically in New York and On Demand in the U.S. and Canada. Based on the 1988 musical collaboration from Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the flick is directed by Christopher Ashley and also stars Dominic Marsh and Pamela Shaw.
