Three-Time Tony Winner Mark Rylance, Gillian Anderson's Streetcar & More Set for New Season at St. Ann’s Warehouse

Three-time Tony winner Mark Rylance is heading back to New York's boards in 2016! The stage and screen star will lead the Big Apple premiere of Nice Fish as part of the inaugural season at St. Ann’s Warehouse’s new home on the waterfront in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Other standout productions include the previously rumored Gillian Anderson-led transfer of the hit London revival of A Streetcar Named Desire.

Donmar Warehouse’s Henry IV will kick off the season and play November 6 through December 6. The second with St. Ann’s in director Phyllida Lloyd’s trilogy of all-female Shakespeares, the classic is set against the backdrop of women in prison.

This will be followed by Enda Walsh’s first opera, The Last Hotel, which Walsh is creating with composer Donnacha Dennehy. The look at assisted suicide and the marketplace will run January 8, 2016, through January 17.

Rylance will star in Nice Fish from February 14, 2016 through March 13. The new play is conceived and written by Rylance and poet Louis Jenkins, adapted from Jenkins’ book of poems about ice fishing in Minnesota. Claire van Kampen will direct.

The much-buzzed about London production of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire will star Gillian Anderson, Ben Foster and Vanessa Kirby, under the direction of Benedict Andrews. The classic is set for a limited engagement April 23, 2016 through May 22.
