Jessie Buckley, Tom Bateman and more have boarded the cast of the previously announced Kenneth Branagh productions of The Winter’s Tale and Harlequinade, starring Branagh and Judi Dench. The shows will play in repertory at the West End’s Garrick Theatre from October 17 through January 16, 2016. The productions are scheduled to officially open on November 7.
Joining Buckley (Henry V) as Perdita and Muriel Palmer and Bateman (Shakespeare in Love) as Florizel and Jack Wakefield, will be Jack Colgrave Hirst (Trials of Jimmy Rose) as the Clown and Tom Palmer, Hadley Fraser (The Vote) as Polixenes and First Halberdier, Michael Pennington (King Lear) as Anitgonus, Zoe Rainey (Anything Goes) as Emilia, Miranda Raison (Hello/Goodbye) as Hermione and Edna Selby, John Shrapnel (Phaedra) as Camillo and George Chudleigh, Kathryn Wilder (professional debut) as Mopsa and Joyce Langland and Jimmy Yuill (Nicholas Nickleby) as as the Shepherd and Mr Burton.
As reported earlier, Branagh will play Leontes and Arthur Gosport and Dench is set to take on the role of Paulina in The Winter’s Tale.
