Ryan Gosling, Broadway Star?
ICYMI screen hunk Ryan Gosling is a triple threat—he kicked off his career as a Mouseketeer in The Mickey Mouse Club with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. As previously reported, Gosling will star opposite Broadway alum Emma Stone in screen tuner La La Land, but he’s also got his eye on other musical roles. “I do love Gene Kelly and Singin’ in the Rain and An American in Paris, those styles of musicals,” Gosling told The Daily Telegraph. This man needs to come to Broadway.
Off-B'way's Zombie Prom Aims for Silver Screen
A screen adaptation of 1990s off-Broadway comedy tuner Zombie Prom is in the works. The film will be penned by Vince Marcello and Mark Landry, with Marcello directing. The show, written by John Dempsey and Dana P. Rowe, pays tribute to 1950s movies and musicals and follows the love affair between bad boy Jonny and good girl Toffee. Jonny somehow ends up in a nuclear cooling tower and then turns Toffee into a zombie. As you do.
Taye Diggs Talks Hedwig
Taye Diggs will soon step into our favorite internationally ignored song stylist's heels in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the first African American to do so. The stage and screen star recently stopped by Today to chat about the role and more. Why'd he take on the gig? "I'm a song and dance cat and this role has it all!" Check out the interview below; Diggs takes over for Darren Criss at the Cort Theatre from July 22.
