Elena Shaddow, who recently appeared on Broadway in The Visit, will trade in her yellow shoes for gold slippers. The actress will take on the role of Cinderella in the Muny’s production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods. She joins a cast that includes Tony winner Heather Headley as the Witch. Performances will run at the St. Louis venue from July 21 through 27.
The production will also feature Rob McClure as the Baker, Erin Dilly as the Baker’s Wife, Ken Page as the Narrator, Jason Gotay as Jack, Andrew Samonsky as Cinderella Prince/Wolf, Ryan Silverman as Rapunzel’s Prince and Ellen Harvey as Cinderella’s Stepmother. Gary Griffin will direct.
In addition to The Visit, Shaddow’s Broadway credits include The Bridges of Madison County (as a standby for the role of Francesca, which she originated at Williamstown), La Cage aux Folles, The Woman in White, Fiddler on the Roof, Nine, Sweet Smell of Success and Les Miserables.
The Muny’s current season also includes My Fair Lady, Hairspray, Holiday Inn, Buddy: The Buddy Story, Beauty and the Beast and Oklahoma!.
