Broadway Composer Frank Wildhorn Marries Japanese Performing Artist Yoka Wao in Hawaii
Aloha! Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn wed Yoka Wao, a Japanese performing artist, over the weekend in Maui, Hawaii. The happy couple tweeted the news following a ceremony attended by multiple Main Stem peeps including Laura Osnes and Adrienne Warren.
Wildhorn received Tony nods for Bonnie and Clyde and The Civil War; additional Great White Way credits include Jekyll & Hyde, Wonderland, Dracula, the Musical and Victor/Victoria. Wao was a member of the Takarazuka Revue 1988 through 2006, where she specialized in playing male characters (Otokoyaku). She played Velma Kelly in a 2008 production of Chicago in Japan and has worked with Wildhorn on projects including Dracula.
