Brian d'Arcy James' Movie Wins Toronto Spot
Good news for Something Rotten headliner Brian d’Arcy James. The three-time Tony nominee’s previously reported new movie Spotlight will be screened at the 40th Toronto International Film Festival. Directed by Tom McCarthy and also starring Mark Ruffalo and Rachel McAdams, the project follows the story of a Boston pedophile priest. Other stage and screen faves' projects to make the lineup include Helen Mirren’s Eye in the Sky, Eddie Redmayne’s The Danish Girl, Jake Gyllenhaal’s Demolition, Bryan Cranston’s Trumbo, Christopher Plummer’s Victoria and the screen adaptation of Alan Bennett's The Lady in the Van, led by Maggie Smith. The festival will run September 10 through September 20.

Wicked's Stephen Schwartz Will Be Celebrated Uptown
A tribute to Wicked and Pippin composer Stephen Schwartz and a Patti LuPone concert are just some of the events that will take place at Symphony Space's upcoming season, under the artistic direction of Andrew Byrne for the first time. The New York venue, which is situated at Broadway and 95th Street, was built in 1915 and a number of presentations will include centenary inspired celebrations, such as concerts celebrating Édith Piaf and Frank Sinatra, who were both born that year.

Kinky Boots' Cyndi Lauper Will Pen Another B'way Show
Cyndi Lauper, who won a Tony for her infectious pop-rock score of Broadway's Kinky Boots, stopped by The Today Show on July 28 and chatted about the recent world domination of the tuner. Lauper is especially excited that the musical is heading to London as "it's really an English story."
