Rejoicify! Wicked Broadway vet Tom McGowan will reprise the role of the Wizard in the London production. He is scheduled to make his West End debut in the tuner for a limited engagement September 21 through March 12, 2016. McGowan takes over for Martyn Ellis.
McGowan has been playing the Wizard in various North American productions of Wicked since 2009, including three separate engagements at the Gershwin Theatre on Broadway. He received a Tony nod for La Bête and has also been seen on the Great White Way in Casa Valentina, Chicago and Ivanov. McGowan's multiple screen credits include Frasier, Everybody Loves Raymond, The War at Home, Veep, Modern Family, Bad Santa, As Good As It Gets and Sleepless in Seattle.
From September 21 the West End company of Wicked will also star Emma Hatton as Elphaba, Savannah Stevenson as Glinda, Oliver Savile as Fiyero, Liza Sadovy as Madame Morrible, Sean Kearns as Doctor Dillamond, Daniel Hope as Boq, Katie Rowley Jones as Nessarose, Natalie Andreou as standby for Elphaba and Carina Gillespie as standby for Glinda.
