Here's a quick roundup of stories you may have missed today.
Taylor's Swift Rescue
We didn’t think it was possible to love Taylor Swift more than we already do, and then she goes and saves a theater company at the 11th-hour! The Belvoir Street Theatre in Sydney, Australia, was putting on a production of Seventeen this week, which features a company of senior actors playing 17-year-olds on their last day of school. One of the show’s big numbers was set to Swift’s "Shake It Off," but at the last minute they were denied permission to use the tune by a music publisher. Cue a social media campaign, and thanks to the help of Matilda scribe Tim Minchin, among others, Swift responded! "Permission granted, @BelvoirSt," she tweeted. "Good luck with your opening night." Which reminds us, Ms. Swift, when are you going to make our dreams come true and star on Broadway?
NPH & David Burtka Cook Up a Storm With Ina Garten
Tony winner Neil Patrick Harris and his recent Broadway headliner hubby David Burtka have joined forces with Ina Garten for an episode of her Food Network show Barefoot Contessa. In the teaser trailer below, Burtka, as the professional chef in the family, is in charge of ribeye steaks, while Harris is on bar duty, mixing a “Rye-groni,” his twist on the classic Campari-based Negroni, made with rye whiskey instead of gin. Their show will air on August 8.
