The Broadway.com staff is crazy for Culturalist, the website that lets you choose and create your own top 10 lists. Every week, we’re challenging you with a new Broadway-themed topic to rank. We’ll announce the most popular choices on the new episode of The Broadway.com Show every Wednesday.
When Andrew Lloyd Webber recently revealed a 50th anniversary production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is in the works, we asked you to rank actors to star in it. The results are in, and (to no one's surprise at all) you chose our Broadway boyfriend Aaron Tveit to headline the show. This week, we've been thinking about movie musicals (like a "scrappy" In the Heights flick). With movie musicals on the brain, we had to ask you which Tony-winning musical should become a movie. Some shows are based on films, but we're talking about a movie musical! Oh, and we didn't include the ones that have already been made into movie musicals. (We're looking at you Hairspray, Phantom, The Producers, Les Miz etc.) Makes sense, no? So please tell us, which Tony-winning musical deserves to go Hollywood. Broadway.com Editor-in-Chief Paul Wontorek posted his list of top 10 picks here!
