Fiddler has added some perfect matches to their roster. Alexandra Silber, Samantha Massell and more have joined the cast of Fiddler on the Roof on Broadway. The two take on the roles of Tzeitel and Hodel, respectively, in the upcoming revival. Joining them are newly announced Alix Korey as Yente, Ben Rappaport as Perchik, Jessica Vosk as Fruma Sarah and Aaron Young as Sasha. The production, directed by Bartlett Sher, will begin performances at the Broadway Theatre on November 12.
Silber graduates to the role of Tzeitel, having previously played Hodel in the 2007 West End production. She made her Broadway debut in Master Class and recently starred as Maria in the Grammy-nominated West Side Story concert with the San Francisco Symphony. Massell appeared on the Great White Way in La Bohème. Korey returns to Broadway after appearing in numerous musicals including All Shook Up, Chicago, Triumph of Love and Show Boat. Rappaport’s credits include Picnic on the Main Stem and Outsourced on the small screen. Vosk can currently be seen in Finding Neverland having previously appeared in The Bridges of Madison County on the Great White Way. Young makes his Broadway debut with Fiddler.
The group joins the previously reported lineup of stars, including five-time Tony nominee Danny Burstein as Tevye, Jessica Hecht as Golde, Adam Kantor as Motel and Melanie Moore as Chava. Julie Benko, Jesse Kovarsky and Silvia Vrskova will also join the ensemble, with additional casting to be announced later.
The classic musical by Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick and Joseph Stein premiered on Broadway in 1964; this marks the show’s fourth Broadway revival.
