Kyle Beltran and more will board the cast of Annie Baker’s The Flick from September 1. Directed by Sam Gold, the return engagement of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama is currently scheduled to play off-Broadway through January 10, 2016 at the Barrow Street Theatre.
Also joining the company along with Beltran as Avery will be Brian Miskell as Skylar/The Dreaming Man and Nicole Rodenburg as Rose. They replace Aaron Clifton Moten, Alex Hanna and Louisa Krause, respectively. Matthew Maher will continue as Sam.
Set in a rundown movie theater in central Massachusetts, The Flick tells the story of three underpaid employees who mop the floors and attend to one of the last 35 millimeter film projectors in the state. Their battles and heartbreaks, more gripping than the lackluster second-run movies on screen, play out in the empty theater aisles.
The play previously ran at Playwrights Horizons in 2013.
