Bah, Humbug! Oscar winner Jim Broadbent will return to the stage to play Scrooge in a new version of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Directed by Phelim McDermott and adapted by Patrick Barlow, the production will play a limited engagement November 30 through January 30, 2016. Opening night is set for December 9.
Broadbent won an Oscar for his performance in 2001’s Iris; additional film credits include Topsy-Turvy, Moulin Rouge!, Bridget Jones' Diary, Hot Fuzz, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Iron Lady, Cloud Atlas, Le Week-End and the Harry Potter films as Horace Slughorn. He won a Golden Globe for his work in 2006’s Longford on the small screen. Stage credits include Kafka's Dick, Our Country's Good, The Government Inspector, Goosepimples and Ecstasy.
