Stage and screen star Julian Ovenden will step in for Steven Pasquale opposite Broadway fave Sierra Boggess at the upcoming October 9 Carnegie Hall New York Pops Concert. The My Favorite Things: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein event will take place at the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.
Ovenden and Boggess memorably partnered up in 2010 at London's Royal Albert Hall for a Rodgers and Hammerstein "Prom." His stage credits include J.M. Barrie in the original 2012 production of Finding Neverland at Leicester's Curve Theatre, as well as My Night with Reg, Death Takes a Holiday and Annie Get Your Gun. Along with Downton Abbey, Ovenden's screen credits include The Assets, Person of Interest, A Christmas Carol: The Musical, The Forsyte Saga and Foyle's War.
The program will feature numbers from all eleven of the collaborations between Rodgers and Hammerstein. Selections will include “A Wonderful Guy” and “There Is Nothin’ Like a Dame” from South Pacific, “The Sound of Music” from The Sound of Music, and the Cinderella Waltz from Cinderella.
