Here's a quick roundup of stories you may have missed today.
NPH's Best Time Ever Switches It Up
Neil Patrick Harris’ NBC series Best Time Ever is set for a bit of a schedule switcheroo, so get out your calendars. The show will stay in its present position after The Voice at 10PM for one more Tuesday, on October 6. From October 13, you will need to tune in to see the Tony winner at 8PM, when Chicago Fire takes the later slot. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ratings have been solid for Best Time Ever, especially with the lead-in from the juggernaut that is The Voice.
Annaleigh Ashford's 'Hot Stuff!'
We always knew she was "Hot Stuff!" Broadway Records will release Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford's debut album on November 13. The tracks were recorded at the Sylvia headliner's 54 Below show Lost in the Stars; expect classic cabaret with an eclectic mix of music from the disco days of Donna Summer to the melodies of Kurt Weill and Stephen Sondheim to a sing-a-long of Alanis Morrissette. On the other hand, if you'd prefer barking to singing, you'll have to head over to the Cort Theatre from October 2.
Pitch Perfect 3 Pushes Back Release Date
Those aca-mazing Barden Bellas will return to the big screen slightly later than initially announced. The Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson-led Pitch Perfect 3 will now hit movie theaters on August 4, 2017, not July 21. According to Deadline, the move came about because of a change in the plans of Pacific Rim 2 (no, we have no idea what that film is about either—it must involve a distinct lack of belting), which had initially laid claim to the later date.
Mandy Gonzalez Set for Madam Secretary
Broadway alum Mandy Gonzalez has boarded the cast of CBS’ Madam Secretary, joining a slew of stage stars in the series including Patina Miller, Bebe Neuwirth and Sebastian Arcelus. Gonzalez, whose Great White Way credits include Elphie in Wicked, In the Heights and Lennon, revealed on Instagram that she would take on the recurring role of Lucy Knox. Madam Secretary will return for its second season on October 4 at 8PM.
