Here's a quick roundup of stories you may have missed today and over the weekend.
Stephanie Mills Eyes B'way Wiz
Stephanie Mills, Broadway's original Dorothy in The Wiz wants to return to the Great White Way with the revival next season! However, this time it would be as Aunt Em, the role she will take on in the live NBC telecast on December 3. Mills told the New York Daily News that she would ease on down the Main Stem road again “in a heartbeat.” And how does she think rehearsals for the upcoming broadcast will go alongside Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Uzo Aduba, Amber Riley and newcomer Shanice Williams? “I'm starstruck. I'll think we'll have a huge girl powwow.”
Steven Van Zandt Boards B'way-Aimed Piece of My Heart
No need to “Cry Baby!” Piece of My Heart: The Bert Berns Story is still looking to land on Broadway in 2016. Steven Van Zandt, founding member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, will serve as musical director as well a producer on the project, alongside Paul Shaffer, Maureen Van Zandt and Joe Grano (Jersey Boys). Featuring a book by Daniel Goldfarb, the songbook of Bert Berns, and direction / choreography by Denis Jones, Piece of My Heart: The Bert Berns Story played off-Broadway in 2014 and held two industry readings earlier this year. We will keep you posted!

Watch Bebe Neuwirth & Patina Miller Sing in Prime Time
Hit CBS drama Madam Secretary has drawn heavily on the talents of Broadway's best, so we guess it was only a matter of time before a few of them were brought together to do a number. Check out a snippet from the October 4 episode below as Tony winners Bebe Neuwirth and Patina Miller, along with Jersey Boys movie standout Erich Bergen, perform a (classy, obviously) parody of Billy Joel's "The Longest Time." Makes you just want to paint the town with them and all that jazz!
