B'way Songs Cut From Live-Action Beauty and the Beast
Some more concrete news about Disney’s eagerly anticipated live-action Beauty and the Beast. “The songs from the movie are in,” composer Alan Menken told EW, referring to the 1991 animated film. “Actually, none of the songs from Broadway made the film.” However, Menken has penned, along with Tony and Oscar winner Tim Rice, more material for the project. “There’s actually three new songs written for the movie,” he added. We can’t wait to hear them! Which is a little unfortunate, as the Bill Condon-helmed project, starring Emma Watson as Belle, won’t hit movie theaters until March 17, 2017. We’ll be watching this on repeat in the meantime.
