Michael Cerveris' Fun Home Outtake
Fun Home headliner Michael Cerveris and his band Loose Cattle have recorded a country version of “Pony Girl.” Penned by Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron, Cerveris has created his own arrangement of the song, which was cut during early workshops of Fun Home. The single, mastered for iTunes, is now available for pre-sale, and will officially drop digitally on November 23. A very special limited edition heavyweight vinyl version, with original cover art by Alison Bechdel, on whom Fun Home is based, will be available by January.
Steve Kazee Set for Nashville
Steve Kazee (Once) has been tapped for a recurring role in Nashville. According to Deadline, the Tony winner will play Riff, a country music star who chose family over fame, in the ABC drama. Expect to see him on your TV screens early next year.
Bryce Pinkham & Lesli Margherita Team Up
Broadway faves Bryce Pinkham (A Gentleman’s Guide), Lesli Margherita (Vlogger, Dames at Sea), Kelli Barrett, Jessica Keenan Wynn and more have boarded the lineup for Making Our Gardens Grow. The annual fundraiser for Theater Resources Unlimited, which educates people in the business of the arts, will take place on November 8 at Sardi's.
Sara Bareilles & Jessie Mueller Bond Over Apples
Sara Bareilles' tuner Waitress will land on Broadway in the spring and on November 6 she stopped by The Today Show to chat about her new album, which features songs from the production. "It's been a very blissful project," said the singer-songwriter, who has bonded so much with leading lady Jessie Mueller that they've made plans to go apple picking next week.
