John Gallagher Jr.'s Debut Album
John Gallagher Jr., who won a Tony for Spring Awakening, is set to release his debut album! Six Day Hurricane will drop on January 15, 2016 courtesy of Rockwood Music Hall Recordings, and you can check out the first single, “Two Fists Full," below. That's not all we've got to look forward to from the star; after some high profile TV appearances over the past few years on The Newsroom and Olive Kitteridge, Gallagher Jr. will soon be treading Broadway's boards once more. He is set to appear opposite Jessica Lange in Long Day’s Journey Into Night from March 31, 2016 at the American Airlines Theatre. We can't wait to have him back!
Bernadette Peters Gets Her Brit On
Bernadette Peters will journey across the pond for her first U.K. solo concerts in more than 15 years. The Tony winner and doganizer is scheduled to return to the Royal Festival Hall, London on June 3, 2016 and to also play her first ever date at the Opera House, Manchester on June 5. Audiences can expect Peters to perform all her fave signature songs from shows including Gypsy, Into the Woods and Sunday in the Park with George. Musical direction will be by Marvin Laird, with sound design by Tom Sorce and lighting design by Lenny Cowles. One Broadway.com staff member is already looking into his air miles.
John Bolton to Lead A Charlie Brown Christmas
Dames at Sea’s John Bolton has been tapped to narrate Vince Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas on December 20 at Carnegie Hall. Under the musical direction of Steven Reineke, the staged concert with the New York Pops and Judith Clurman’s Essential Voices USA will bring the whole Peanuts gang to life through original choreography by Liza Gennaro, as performed by dancers from New York Theatre Ballet. Additional characters in the classic Christmas tale are set to be voiced by students from TADA! Youth Theater.
