Tony Yazbeck (Finding Neverland), Lesli Margherita (Dames at Sea), Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and many more will appear in this year’s Broadway Backwards. As previously reported, the annual celebration where gays and lesbians experience their stories as told through the great songs of musical theater and performed by their favorite Great White Way stars, will take place on March 21 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
Also joining the lineup will be Len Cariou (Sweeney Todd), Andre De Shields (Gotta Dance), Beth Malone (Fun Home), Ken Page (Cats), Telly Leung (Allegiance), Brad Oscar (Something Rotten!), Krysta Rodriguez (Spring Awakening), Emily Skinner (Side Show), Ricky Ubeda (On the Town), Treat Williams (Follies) and Broadway trio Apollo Link. More special guests will be announced in early March. Performers subject to change.
Directed by Robert Bartley, the show will feature music supervision by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, music direction by Tim Rosser, lighting design by Paul Miller and costume design by Matt Kilgore. Choreography will be by Bartley, Al Blackstone, David Bushman and Adam Roberts. Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the event will benefit Broadway Cares and The Center.
