We’ll settle for this! The CW has renewed Crazy Ex-Girlfriend for a second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Despite low ratings in its premiere season, the musical comedy series has been critically acclaimed and earned creator Rachel Bloom a Golden Globe for her performance. A renewal indicates confidence on the network’s part for the show to continue developing an audience that wants to watch an angry Tovah Feldshuh singing about bathrooms (uhm, hi).
In addition to Bloom—a professed Broadway cheerleader herself—and Tony nominee Feldshuh, the show features several stage favorites, including Santino Fontana, Vincent Rodriguez III, Donna Lynne Champlin and David Hull.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend follows Rebecca Bunch (Bloom), a New York-based lawyer who moves to West Covina, California to reconnect with her childhood boyfriend (Rodriguez). Each episode features multiple musical numbers, and many are extremely reminiscent of familiar show tunes. Take a look at some of our favorites from the first season below!
