Jeremy Kushnier, who can currently be seen in off-Broadway’s Shear Madness, will join Cirque du Soleil’s upcoming Paramour on Broadway as the male lead A.J. He takes over for Bradley Dean, who has departed due to “creative differences,” according to a spokesperson.
Paramour is set to begin performances at the Lyric Theatre on April 16. The show, combining Cirque’s signature acrobatics with musical theater, will open on May 25.
In addition to Shear Madness, Kushnier has appeared on the New York stage in Jesus Christ Superstar, Jersey Boys, Rent and Footloose on Broadway and Atomic off-Broadway.
Directed by Philippe Decouflé, Paramour is set in the world of Golden Age Hollywood. The event will spin the tale of a beautiful young poet forced to choose between love and art. The cast also features Ruby Lewis and Ryan Vona.
