Here's a quick roundup of stories you may have missed today.
Watch the Schuyler Sisters Belt the National Anthem
This feels very meta. Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jasmine Cephas Jones and Phillipa Soo, who play Angelica, Peggy and Eliza, respectively, in Hamilton, recently sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Madison Square Garden. It was for a New York Liberty home opener, which we're imagining is some sort of sporting event. The point is, the Schuyler sisters blew us all away, naturally. Werk!
The women of #Hamilton performed the Star-Spangled Banner at the @nyliberty home opener and it was just beautiful.https://t.co/FKx9O5PzWU

Meryl Streep Tapped for the Public Theater
Meryl Streep, Phylicia Rashad, Jimmy Smits and more will feature in The United States of Shakespeare at the Delacorte Theater on June 6. Directed by Jeremy McCarter, the Public Theater’s annual gala will include scenes from Shakespeare’s greatest works and the American poems, songs, and stories they inspired.
ABC Circling Live Musical
After the massive success of The Sound of Music Live! and The Wiz Live! over at NBC and Grease: Live for Fox, it comes as no surprise that ABC, which is owned by Disney, is contemplating their own live TV musical event. “When we make our play in that space, we really want to make sure it’s the right project for us to be doing and one that really speaks to the heart of who we are at ABC and as a part of the Disney family,” network chief Channing Dungey told reporters at the ABC upfront presentation. What do you think they should pick? Aladdin Live!, The Lion King Live!, Frozen Live!...the possibilities are endless!
Daveed Diggs & Leslie Odom Jr.'s Lion King Takeover
And we're ending today's Odds & Ends with Hamilton, but we're sure you'll forgive us! Daveed Diggs and Leslie Odom Jr. opened and closed this morning’s ESPN upfront presentation with an original performance written and created exclusively for the event. Check out the video below of the pair on stage at the Minskoff Theatre (The Lion King's usual home). And ICYMI (we doubt it), the first episode of Odom Jr.'s Broadway.com vlog will be released on May 19 and is scheduled to run every Thursday for eight weeks.
