The musical adaptation of American Psycho fell victim to the post-Tony nomination killing spree, but it at least played a final week closer than ever to selling out. The musical, which took its final bow on June 5, played to over 90% capacity for its final eight performances and took in the highest gross of its run at $620,083. Meanwhile, two musicals that managed to get Best Musical nominations—Hamilton and School of Rock—grossed over $1 million, with Waitress and Shuffle Along just shy of reaching seven figures. The fifth nomination in the category, Bright Star, faced another dip this past week, and will need to count on a stellar performance at the Tony Awards on June 12 to continue shining.
