Something's coming! Jeremy Jordan and Karen Olivo will headline West Side Story at the Hollywood Bowl. Conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, the classic tuner will play on July 14 and July 19.
Joining Tony nominee Jordan (Newsies) as Tony and Olivo reprising her Tony-winning role of Anita, will be Solea Pfeiffer as Maria, George Akram as Bernardo, Matthew James Thomas as Riff, Drew Foster as Action, Kyle Selig as Baby John, Anthony Chatmon II as A-rab, Jennifer Sanchez as Rosalia, Brit West as Francisca, Julia Bullock as A Girl and Jeff Smith as Diesel.
West Side Story takes place in New York City in the mid-1950s amidst widespread racial and social tension. Tony is a Jet ready to leave the gang life behind. Maria is the sister of Sharks leader, Bernardo. When Tony and Maria unexpectedly meet and fall for each other, the tension that has been building between the rival gangs explodes. The beloved score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim features such classics as “Something’s Coming,” “I Feel Pretty” and “Tonight.”
