As previously speculated, Two-time Tony winner Nathan Lane will appear in the National Theatre’s 2017 revival of Angels in America. Also added to the roster are Susan Brown, James McArdle and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, who join Andrew Garfield, Denise Gough and Russell Tovey.
Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer-winning, two-part drama will begin performances at London’s Lyttelton Theatre in May. Olivier and Tony winner Marianne Elliott will direct.
Lane, who will take on the role of Roy Cohn, is also set to headline the upcoming Broadway revival of The Front Page; he won Tonys for The Producers and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Brown, who’s known for her myriad London stage credits and her role of Septa Mordane in Game of Thrones, will play Hannah. McArdle has been tapped to play Louis; his previous credits include Platonov, Ivanov and The James Plays. Stewart-Jarret, who has appeared on stage previously in The History Boys and Wig Out, will play Belize.
Additional casting and official dates will be announced at later.
