School of Rock's Sierra Boggess to Headline The Phantom of the Opera in Paris

Andrew Lloyd Webber is on record about Sierra Boggess as saying, "she’s the best, the best Christine certainly," and the three-time Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner is returning to the character once more. The composer's angel of music will depart his new Broadway hit School of Rock on August 8 to lead a production of The Phantom of the Opera, in French, in Paris.

"I thought I knew every facet of Christine and now learning it in French takes it to an even deeper level," Boggess exclusively told Broadway.com. "It is an exciting challenge and a complete honor!"

Phantom Paris is set to open at the Mogador Theatre in October; it will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the opening of the classic musical and will be the the first time the show plays in France and in French.

Boggess is a long-time Lloyd Webber collaborator, having played Christine in The Phantom of the Opera multiple times and receiving an Olivier nod for originating the role in the long-running tuner's sequel Love Never Dies. Boggess has also appeared on Broadway in It Shoulda Been You, The Little Mermaid and Master Class; her West End credits additionally include Les Miserables.

School of Rock is currently playing at the Winter Garden Theatre.
