We found him first, Hollywood! Better Off Single, headlined by your Broadway boyfriend Aaron Tveit, will land in theaters and on demand on October 7. Gravitas Ventures has picked up worldwide rights to Benjamin Cox’s dating comedy, which also stars Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford and Lauren Miller Rogen.
The film, originally titled Stereotypically You, follows Charlie Carroll (Tveit). When Charlie quits his job and his girlfriend on the same day, it seems as though he’s finally found freedom. But after a quick dip in the dark waters of the NYC dating pool, Charlie begins to wonder if he’s made a mistake. He’s not equipped for single life. In fact, Charlie might not be equipped for life in general. With no job and no love, Charlie is forced to go on a journey of self-discovery so intense that he begins to suffer from surreal hallucinations, flashbacks, and fantasies. Will he find “the one?” Or did that ship already sail, taking with it his only hopes for relationship sanity?
Better Off Single also features SNL’s Abby Elliott, Kal Penn, Chris Elliott, Lewis Black, Shane McRae and Kelen Coleman.
As all Tveitor Tots know, Tveit is currently appearing in CBS’ BrainDead and his Undrafted will hit cinemas on July 15. The star made his Broadway debut as Link Larkin in Hairspray in 2006 and later appeared in Wicked, Next to Normal and Catch Me If You Can. Tveit's additional screen credits include Grease: Live, Graceland, Big Sky and the Les Miz movie.
