Everybody say yeah! Aaron C. Finley and Shannon O’Boyle will join the cast of the Tony-winning Kinky Boots this summer. Finley is set to take over as Charlie Price from Andy Kelso, with a first performance scheduled for August 8; O’Boyle will succeed Cortney Wolfson as Nicola on July 25. Meanwhile, Haven Burton will return to the role of Lauren on August 15, stepping in for Jeanna de Waal. Kinky Boots currently plays at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
Finley's Broadway credits include It Shoulda Been You and Rock of Ages. O'Boyle's been seen on the Main Stem in Once the Musical and the Broadway-bound Amélie at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Burton's additional Great White Way credits include Violet, Shrek, Legally Blonde and Rent.
Inspired by a true story, Kinky Boots features a score by Cyndi Lauper, direction by Jerry Mitchell and a book by Harvey Fierstein. The musical follows a struggling shoe factory owner who works to turn his business around with help from the most unlikely person. Together, these two become an unstoppable team, and find that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible...proving that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world.
The Broadway production opened in April 2013 and went on to win six Tonys, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Choreography.
The cast also currently includes Alan Mingo Jr., Daniel Stewart Sherman and Marcus Neville.
