Can you hear the TV addicts sing? Les Miserables has been a titanic novel, a Tony-winning musical and a star-studded film—now it’s getting the miniseries treatment. Weinstein Television and the BBC will join forces to bring the six-part adaptation to the small screen, according to Variety. That’s two miniseries announcements that have got us stoked this week! Let the dreamcasting commence!
Sara Bareilles Recovering from Surgery
Leave it to sweet-as-pie Sara Bareilles to stay positive while recovering from surgery. The Tony-nominated Waitress composer recently shared an Instagram post revealing that she had a fibroid removed from her uterus—but that hasn't stopped her from taking silly selfies and spreading good vibes. “Surgery sucks, but helpers and families are amazing, nurses are angels, and doctors are wizards," she wrote. "Hope this finds you seeking some joy or handing some out to somebody else. We could all use a slice of that." Get well soon, Sara!
London Will Fall in Love with Sleepless in Seattle
Sleepless In Seattle is heading to the London stage. Based on Nora Ephron's romantic 1993 classic starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, the musical comedy will bow at the Lyric at Theatre Royal Plymouth from March 25, 2017 through April 15, 2017. The show received its world premiere at California's Pasadena Playhouse in 2013; at that time, it was reported a transfer to London was in the works. Casting will be announced at a later date.
