Lin-Manuel Miranda Returns to Hamilton for Drunk History
What comes next for Drunk History? Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda will narrate the rivalry between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton during the show’s fourth season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is scheduled to return to Comedy Central on September 27. This is just one of a plethora of projects to look forward to from Miranda: there's also his making Disney magic in Moana, stepping in rhyme in Mary Poppins and so much more.
See Stephen Schwartz's The Prince of Egypt
Courtesy of the Bay Street Theater, Sag Harbor will once again play host to a new stage adaptation of The Prince of Egypt, which has a score by Wicked’s Stephen Schwartz. Directed by Scott Schwartz, Stark Sands will play Ramses, with Tony winner Shuler Hensley as Pharaoh Seti, Marin Mazzie as Queen Tuya, John Cariani as Aaron and Casey Cott as Moses, in the one-night concert event on August 13 in Mashashimuet Park. The free reading is set to be the first ever public performance of the full script and score of the new musical, which has a book by Philip LaZebnik and is based on DreamWorks’ 1998 movie. Featuring the Oscar-winning song, “When You Believe," the tuner tells the story of Moses and his journey from being a Prince of Egypt to the deliverer of his people.
Fox's Rocky Horror Sets the Date
Shivering with antici…pation? We have a date for Fox’s Rocky Horror Picture Show! The Kenny Ortega-helmed remake is scheduled to have us jump to the left, et cetera on October 20, starring Laverne Cox, Heathers' Ryan McCartan, Broadway alum Reeve Carney, Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford, Victoria Justice and Christina Milian.
