It's Official! Michael C. Hall to Headline David Bowie's Lazarus in London

As expected, Michael C. Hall will reprise his role in the London incarnation of David Bowie's Lazarus. Directed by 2016 Tony winner Ivo van Hove and created by Bowie and Once book writer Enda Walsh, the production will play a limited engagement October 25 through January 22, 2017. Opening night is set for November 8 at the Kings Cross Theatre.

Hall's Broadway credits include Hedwig, The Realistic Joneses, Cabaret and Chicago. He is best known for playing serial killer Dexter Morgan in Showtime's Dexter, earning one Golden Globe Award from five nominations and six Emmy Award nods. Other screen credits include HBO's Six Feet Under and the films Cold in July and Kill Your Darlings.

Lazarus had a sold out run off-Broadway at the end of last year. Also reprising their roles from the original production will be Michael Esper and Sophia Anne Caruso. Full casting will be announced later.

Inspired by Walter Tevis’ 1963 novel The Man Who Fell to Earth, Lazarus follows Thomas Newton (Hall), the alcoholic alien-turned-inventor portrayed by Bowie in the 1976 screen adaptation. The show features original tunes by Bowie, as well as new arrangements of his known hits.

Lazarus will feature scenic and lighting design by Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D’Huys, video design by Tal Yarden, sound deisgn by Brian Ronan and Tony Gayle, music direction by Henry Hey and choreography by Annie-B Parson.
