Here's a quick roundup of stories you may have missed today.
Thomas Sadoski and Amanda Seyfried Put a Ring on It
This showmance just got super official! Stage and screen co-stars Thomas Sadoski and Amanda Seyfried are engaged, according to the New York Post. The couple headlined Second Stage’s production of Neil LaBute's The Way We Get By off-Broadway last year and started dating in March of this year. They will also appear in the forthcoming film The Last Word. Congratulations to these lovebirds!
Aaron Tveit to Play The Paramount
Remember when Aaron Tveit went rockstar at Irving Plaza? Well, our Broadway boyfriend will take the mic once more at The Paramount on February 25, 2017, which means you’ll have 11 whole days to ditch your valentine. (That, or we’ll just make the executive decision to change Valentine’s Day from February 14 to February 25. Valen-tveit’s Day? We’re game.)
Jackie Hoffman Joins Ryan Murphy’s Feud
Another Broadway alum is in the mix for Ryan Murphy’s latest anthological series Feud: Jackie Hoffman! As previously reported, Tony winner Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon will take on the roles of Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, respectively. Each season will focus on a famous feud; season one will chronicle Crawford and Davis’ rift while filming of 1962’s What Ever Happened to Baby Jane. American Horror Story collaborator Tim Minear will also serve as co-showrunner, Deadline reports. Three-time Tony nominee Alfred Molina, Tony nominee Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis and Dominic Burgess have also been tapped for the FX series, which will be produced by Brad Pitt.
Brunch with Broadway’s Brightest
Brunch is already the best—imagine adding some stage faves to the mix! Swanky midtown eatery The Lambs Club has launched Brunch With Broadway Stars on Sundays this summer, which basically means that a jazz band and cast members from your favorite Great White Way musicals are exactly what you need with your Eggs Benedict and mimosa. Stars from Something Rotten!, Paramour and more have participated, and Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 as well as Waitress are scheduled for September 18 and 25, respectively. We’re sure it’s going to be out-of-this-world delicious (for the stomach and ears)!
Hamilton Headliners Set for Carnegie Hall
As previously announced, Great White Way legend Chita Rivera will headline Carnegie Hall on November 7 alongside Alan Cumming, Andy Karl and—wait for it!—Javier Muñoz and Brandon Victor Dixon! Directed by Graciela Daniele with music director Michael Croiter leading a 15-piece band, Chita: Nowadays will feature signature favorites, new selections and special collaborations with her guests, plus a very unique version of the West Side Story classic “America.” (Could that last part mean Chita’s going to spit some rhymes with Javi and Brandon’s help? We hope so!)
