Red Alert! Disaster! Heads to London
This is not a drill! Disaster!, which had a short-lived run on Broadway earlier this year, is to premiere in London. The musical comedy spoof of 1970s jeopardy movies will play two charity performances to raise funds for the Make a Difference Trust at Charing Cross Theatre on November 20. Starring its creator, Seth Rudetsky, the tuner is also set to feature a cast of West End stars.
GOT's Charlotte Hope & More Set for Buried Child
Charlotte Hope (Game of Thrones), Jack Fortune (King Lear), Barnaby Kay (A Streetcar Named Desire) and Gary Shelford (Twelfth Night) will join the previously announced Ed Harris, Amy Madigan and Jeremy Irvine in Buried Child. The West End transfer of the New Group’s off-Broadway revival of Sam Shepard’s Pulitzer-winning play is scheduled to play a limited engagement from November 14 through February 18, 2017. Opening night is slated for December 1 at the Trafalgar Studios.
The Almighty to Arrive in Arizona
God isn’t happy and She is coming to Arizona to set the record straight in no uncertain terms about Her thinking and Her works in Emmy-winner David Javerbaum’s comedy An Act of God. Originally played on Broadway by Jim Parsons and Sean Hayes, God will be a woman for the first time with Broadway alum Paige Davis (Chicago) arriving with her angels to answer some of the deepest questions that have plagued humankind since the Creation. Directed by Marsha Mason, God’s two loyal angels will be played by James Gleason and Max Lawrence. The production is scheduled to run at Tucson’s The Temple of Music and Art (October 22—November 12) and Phoenix’s Herberger Theatre Center (November 17—December 4).
Judith Light Gets Transparent About Her Solo Show
Judith Light stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on September 29 to discuss the stage, screen and nudity. Calling Transparent "the gift that keeps on giving," the conversation also turned to her latest project, Neil LaBute’s All the Ways To Say I Love You. "It's the hardest thing I've ever done," said the two-time winner about the solo show. "I've been on stage bald, I've been on stage naked, but this is harder than that."
