Tickets are now available to see three-time Tony and Oscar nominee Laura Linney and Tony winner Cynthia Nixon in a new Broadway production of Lillian Hellman’s The Little Foxes. Directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan, the show is set to begin previews on March 29, 2017 and officially open on April 19 at Manhattan Theatre Club’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
Linney and Nixon will alternate in the roles of Regina Hubbard Giddens and Birdie Hubbard, both members of a strong-willed aristocratic Southern family. The actresses will play the roles in repertory, appearing opposite each other at each performance; their schedule will be announced next spring. Set in Alabama in 1900, The Little Foxes follows Regina and her ruthless clan, including her sister-in-law Birdie, as they clash in often brutal ways in an effort to strike the deal of their lives.
The production will feature sets design by Scott Pask, costumes by Jane Greenwood, lighting by Justin Townsend and sound by Fitz Patton.
Additional casting will be announced later; the schedule for Linney and Nixon alternating in the two roles will be announced in Spring 2017.
