The new season of the Golden Globe-winning Mozart in the Jungle will capture the scenic majesty of Venice, from the Grand Canal to Teatro La Fenice to Bernadette Peters shouting in a moving gondola. With the New York symphony on strike after a lockout, maestro Rodrigo (Gael García Bernal) travels to Italy for inspiration. It’s there he encounters a glamorous soprano (played by Monica Bellucci), threatens to throw his phone off a roof and gets in a shouting match with Gloria (Peters) in the aforementioned gondola. Check it all out in the new trailer, which also features an angry Debra Monk, below. The new season, which will include appearances by legendary tenor Plácido Domingo and composer Nico Muhly, will be available to stream on Amazon Prime on December 9.
