Off-Broadway extensions have been announced for both fall shows playing at Manhattan Theatre Club’s New York City Center.
Over at Stage I, the New York premiere of Vietgone will now play through December 4; the production had previously been set to shutter on November 27. Starring Jon Hoche, Jennifer Ikeda, Raymond Lee, Samantha Quan and Paco Tolson, the new play by Qui Nguyen is the classic story of boy meets girl—except this boy and girl are refugees from the Vietnam War newly settled in a relocation camp inside Middle America. May Adrales directs.
Meanwhile, Tony winner Sarah Jones’ new play Sell/Buy/Date is now scheduled to run through December 3; it had previously been set to close on November 20 at the Studio at Stage II. Helmed by Carolyn Cantor and penned and performed by Jones, the show is inspired by the real-life experiences of people affected by the commercial sex industry.
