After acclaimed pre-West End engagements in Southampton and Plymouth, The Wind in the Willows is heading to the London Palladium. Based on Kenneth Grahame’s much-loved classic and headlined by Rufus Hound as Mr. Toad, the new musical is scheduled to begin previews on June 17, 2017 and officially open on June 29.
Created by Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey, School of Rock), George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, the comedy follows the impulsive Mr. Toad, whose insatiable need for speed lands him in serious trouble. With his beloved home under threat from the notorious Chief Weasel and his gang of sinister Wild Wooders, Toad must attempt a daring escape leading to a series of misadventures and a heroic battle to recapture Toad Hall.
Directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, the production will feature choreography by Aletta Collins, design by Peter McKintosh, lighting design by Howard Harrison and sound design by Gareth Owen.
