Apply for a Lloyd Webber University Scholarship
The latest component of the American Theatre Wing’s Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative has been announced—the first annual application period for 4-Year Partial University Scholarships is now open. “I have always been a passionate supporter of young talent. It is crucial that proper training is available for the performers of the future and it fills me with great joy that my Foundation can help in this way,” said the composer in a statement. High school students in grade 12 who demonstrate talent and ability in the theater arts, but have a lack of resources to attend a four-year university program are eligible to apply; for more information click here.
Patti LuPone Takes on Robert De Niro
Broadway legend (and former Lloyd Webber leading lady) Patti LuPone, who will soon return to the Great White Way in War Paint, can also be seen in the upcoming Robert De Niro movie The Comedian. Following an aging comic icon, the film is slated to land in movie theaters on February 1, 2017; check out the trailer below.
