A new musical by former talk show host Kathie Lee Gifford is set for off-Broadway this winter. Under the Bridge, based on the family-friendly Natalie Savage Carlson book, The Family Under the Bridge, is set to begin a 12-week limited engagement at the Zipper Theatre on December 1.
Under the Bridge tells the story of Armand to be played by Ed Dixon, a hobo in 1953 Paris who must give up his solitary, carefree life when he finds that three children and their working mother have claimed his shelter under the bridge. Armand reluctantly shares his space and throughout his many adventures with the children on the streets of Paris, he discovers his own need to find a "home" and the riches in life that come from family. The show features a book and lyrics by Gifford and music by David Pomeranz.
Under the Bridge, directed by Eric Schaeffer, is set to officially open on January 6.
