Evans started his Hollywood career as an actor but soon moved behind the scenes. He was head of production at Paramount Pictures from 1966 to 1975, when the studio produced such classics as Love Story, The Odd Couple, Barefoot in the Park, Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown and the first two The Godfather films. His personal and career highs and lows were divulged in his autobiography The Kid Stays in the Picture and the acclaimed documentary of the same name. Evans was also the subject of an adult cartoon series, Kid Notorious, which he narrated.
Evans' Broadway show, tentatively titled The Kid Live on Broadway: The Notorious Life of Robert Evans, will pay particular attention to his youth in New York as an actor with a taste for the forbidden. During these stories, Dick Van Patten, who was a childhood friend, will reportedly join Evans onstage.
There are currently no creative team members attached to the show.
