Luker, McDonald & More Sing Jeff Blumenkrantz Songbook at Zipper 6/22

The music of actor/songwriter Jeff Blumenkrantz will be celebrated at The Jeff Blumenkrantz Songbook on Wednesday, June 22 at the Zipper Theater. Part of the Unzipped Concert Series, the evening will feature Blumenkrantz joined by theater stars Rebecca Luker, Audra McDonald, Jennifer Simard and Sally Wilfert under the direction of Lonny Price.

As a performer, Blumenkrantz has appeared on Broadway in Into the Woods, 3 Penny Opera, Damn Yankees, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and A Class Act. As one of the composers for the 2003 Broadway musical Urban Cowboy, Blumenkrantz received a Tony nomination for Best Original Score. More recently he contributed songs to the song cycle The Seven Deadly Sins which McDonald performed at Carnegie Hall in 2004 and the Drama Desk-nominated off-Broadway musical The Audience.

Also on the bill for the Unzipped Concert Series are Jeremy Kushnier Footloose, Rent and Jeremy Schoenfeld, coming together for a night of music on June 23 appropriately titled Jeremy Night.

Tickets are $35 and are available at the Zipper Theater box office at 336 West 37th Street.
