Kate Blumberg and Peter Maloney will join the cast of the Atlantic Theater Company's Almost An Evening on May 13. The actors replace stars Mary McCann, who left the production to open in Atlantic's upcoming Body Awareness, and F. Murray Abraham. Both actors played their last performances on May 11. The off-Broadway hit, written by Academy Award winner Ethan Coen, recently transferred to the Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street after a sold-out run at Atlantic Stage 2 earlier this season.
Blumberg, an Atlantic Theater Company member, returns to the off-Broadway stage after recent appearances in Parlour Song, Birth and After Birth and Celebrations and The Room. She was also featured in both of Woody Allen's Atlantic world premieres, Writer's Block and A Second Hand Memory.
Maloney, a longtime stage veteran, won critical acclaim in Peter Parnell's Trumpery earlier this season at the Atlantic, where he has appeared in 11 productions, including David Mamet's adaptation of The Voysey Inheritance, Celebration and The Room and The Cherry Orchard.
Almost an Evening also features Mark Linn-Baker, Johanna Day, Tim Hopper, J.R. Horne, Jordan Lage, Del Pentecost and Joey Slotick.
